Miguel Angel Ponce
Miguel Angel Ponce is a Mexican footballer who plays the position of defender. He currently plays for C.D. Guadalajara of the Liga MX.
He was a member of the national under-23 football team in 2012 and won the Olympic gold medal as well.
Early Life of Miguel Angel Ponce
Miguel Ángel Ponce Briseño was born on April 12, 1989, in Sacramento, California. He along with his family moved to Guadalajara before he was 1 and later moved to Tijuana. He attended the San Ysidro Middle School and San Ysidro High School where he played association football for four years. He was invited to a tryout by C.D. Guadalajara at the age of 15.
Professional Life of Miguel Angel Ponce
Miguel Angel Ponce was selected in the C.D. Guadalajara and started playing for the team during his youth career. He started in the senior team of the Guadalajara in 2010. His first score for the team came on September 28, 2010, in the 71st minute of the game against UANL Tigres. His goal helped the team from ending with a loss and ended the game with a 1-1 score.

Ponce was loaned to Toluca in 2015. He quickly became the starting member of the team. During his time at the Toluca, he performed well but despite his successful year, the club did not accept the purchase option which was included in the loan agreement.

Miguel Angel Ponce was loaned to Necaxa on 7 June 2017. He returned to Guadalajara after completing his loan at Necaxa.

Outside of his club career, Miguel Angel Ponce has represented Mexican national team as well. In 2011, Ponce was selected for the U-23 2011 Pan American Games where Mexico won gold after defeating Argentina in the finals. Ponce also participated in the 2012 Olympic Qualifying Tournament and also scored twice in the tournament. He also participated in the 2012 Toulon Tournament where he helped Mexico win the final against Turkey.

Ponce was also a member of the Mexico national team in the 2012 Summer Olympics, where he played in 4 matches and became the member of the team that won the gold medal. Ponce's first senior debut with Mexico at the 2011 Copa America on July 8, 2011. His first competitive appearance for the team was in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup match.
