He met his wife Louise while studying in Rector Drew Primary School, in Hawarden, Clwyd, North Wales in 1984. They have been together since then. Later, the duo both attended Hawarden High School. They dated for about two decades and started living together in a house in 2002 before getting married in 2005.

At an early age, Michael Owen showed his skills to the world as a footballer and his talent and proficiency soon caught the attention of Liverpool officials. He joined Liverpool in 1996 and developed his career through the club. He made his debut in May 1997 in a first full season in the Premier League.

Michael Owen played 8 seasons with Liverpool before joining Spanish club Real Madrid for $10.87 million in 2004. He then moved to New Castle United where he stayed for four seasons and scored 26 goals in 71 appearances.

Michael Owen later agreed on a two-year deal with Premier League Champion Manchester United on 3 July 2009 where he netted five goals in 31 appearances. He took retirement at the end of the 2012-13 season. Prior, he played with Stoke City for one season. In his single season, he scored one goal in eight appearances.
