Club
An academic product of Manchester City, Nmecha. In 2017, he was called to the main team making his debut in the EFL Cup on 19th December 2019. In the match, he scored the third penalty for Manchester City in their penalty shootout victory against Leicester City.
On 29th April 2018, he made his Premier League debut, entering the match as a late substitute for Gabriel Jesus against West Ham United at the London Stadium. On 29th July 2018, he scored his first goal at first-team level in the pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich in a 3–2 victory.
For the 2018-19 season, Nmecha was loaned to Preston North End.
On 3rd August 2019, he moved to Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg for a season-long on loan deal.
