LSU Win their first NCAA Women's Basketball Championship up against Iowa Basketball

Louisiana State University Women's college basketball team has won their first NCAA Championship after reaching the finals for the sixth time. LSU clinched their first title against Iowa in a record offensive performance to beat Caitlin Clark's Iowa 102-85. 

LSU’s 102 points also set a new record for the most points scored by a team in a women’s championship game. Although, Clark led the team in the finals with 30 points setting a new record for most points scored in a women’s tournament in the process with 191 but ended the tournament on the losing side. 

Kim Mulkey led the team to their first title and is the first women's coach to win national titles at two different schools. She won three at Baylor before leaving for LSU two years ago. Mulkey became the first person to win titles as a coach and player. Jasmine Carson was the hero of the match after scoring 22 points off the bench in just 22 minutes of the game played.
