Jose Nestor Pekerman Krimen or commonly known as Jose Pekerman is an Argentine Colombian football coach and is serving currently manager of Colombian national team. Before switching his career to coaching, he played club football for the Argentinan club, Argentinos Juniors and Colombian club, Independiente Medellin.

He has coached the Argentina U-20 team and was the manager of the senior team in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He has been coaching Colombia National Team since 2012 and has managed the team in 2 FIFA World Cup editions.

Jose Pekerman’s Early Career

Jose Pekerman was born on 3 September 1949 on Villa Dominguez, Argentina. He is of Argentina nationality.

He started his playing career with the youth team of Argentian football club, Argentinos Juniors and later joined the main team in 1970.

Pekerman later played for Colombian football club, Independiente Medellin in 1974 and at the age of 28, he ended his career after suffering from a knee injury.

He even worked as a taxi driver before turning to coach.
