Maria Sharapova, a Russian pro tennis player is famed for being the only Russian woman to hold the title of Grand Slam for 5 times. Sharapova, also the silver medalist in the Women Singles at 2012 Summer Olympics was in highlights with the news of her romance with tennis hunk Grigor Dimitrov. But, the couple has split.

The relationship of Maria and Grigor seems to have started after they met through their mutual friends in 2012. Maria released her autobiography “Unstoppable” recently in September where she revealed the little-known details of her relationship with Grigor Dimitrov.

In the book, she wrote:

"In October 2012, as I walked off the court after my quarter-final match in Beijing, I checked my phone and there was the message from Max. Thanks' I typed back, just as I do every time. Ten minutes later, I got a second message, which surprised me. He told 'Grigor Dimitrov' wants your number.

She further added: 

"I googled Grigor’s name to find his age. Was he even legal? Twenty-one. Barely. 'Give him my e-mail,' I remembered noticing a kid walking through Wimbledon village, tall, skinny, and carrying a type of good-looking grin that says he knows he is good-looking."

Later, the relationship from texts grew up with calls to datings.

But, the cute relationship with amazing start got a bad ending after the couple called off their relationship in July 2015. Maria told that Grigor was distracting her focus and she couldn't give enough time for her career as reported which led to the couple to the mishap.

Grigor is not the only one to get dumped by Maria. Prior to him, she was in a relationship with the singer, Adam Levine in 2005 after she met at him at her 18th birthday party, however, the love short lived.

The reason for their break-up is still unwrapped. But, soon Maria moved on with her new love Charlie Ebersol and the history again repeated as she dated in brief in 2008.

After that, Maria sought the love of her in the sports and literally she got the one. She started dating Slovenian professional basketball player, Sasha Vujacic. The couple started dating since 2009 got engaged in 2011 but sadly on August 31, 2012, they called off their relationship.

Without any reason explained, later that year she introduced Grigor as her new boyfriend, however, the issue also got dumped after more than 2 years of dating.

But, the rumor is reported to be a hoax as they claim themselves to be good friends and no records of their dates are available yet. 

So, might be she is single and enjoying her bachelor life and taking her time. But, her closeness with Lewis and fondness in Formula1 racing is making the issue suspicious.

 Maria Sharapova got Marriage proposal from a fan

Maira in her exhibition game in Istanbul in Turkey on November 26 this year, got marriage proposal while she was on the court. For her next season preparation, she was there for her training to play with Cagla Buyukakcay, a local player. 

As Sharapova was getting ready to serve, a fan unexpectedly shouted “Maria, will you marry me?” The hall with  the laughter got their mouth wide open after Maria said her answer "Maybe."
