But Juan Pizzi resigned from Chilean managerial role in 2017 after they failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup (2018) to be held in Russia.
Later Pizzi was appointed as the manager for the Saudi Arabia National Team on November 28, 2017, replacing Edgardo Bauza.
Saudi Arabia played under Pizzi and in the captainship of Osama Hawsawi in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, however, had a 0-5 defeat to Russia and 0-1 defeat to Uruguay in the group stage.
