A native of Buffalo, New York, Glenn Gronkowski was born on 25th March 1993, to Diane Walters and Gordon Gronkowski. His great-grandfather, Ignatius Gronkowski who held five international records in cycling as well as represented the United States at the 1924 Summer Olympics.

Among his four brothers, Dan Gronkowski and Chris Gronkowski are former NFL players, and Rob Gronkowski currently plays for New England Patriots. Whereas the eldest one, Gordie Gronkowski. Jr is far from the sport.

Gronkowski joined Williamsville North High School where he recorded 53 receptions for 762 yards and 11 touchdowns on offense as well as was named the Section VI Class AA North Co-Offensive Player of the Year, in his senior year.

Throughout his high school career, Gronkowski recorded 125 receptions for 2,076 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Upon graduation, Gronkowski enrolled at Kansas State, where he majored in marketing and joined the college football team. He started his college football career as a redshirt freshman in 2013. He played in all 13 games with five starts. For the season, Gronkowski has named a First-team Academic All-Big 12 selection and an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection.

The following season, Gronkowski made his appearances in all 13 games, starting three. For 2015, he started all 13 games with five receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown.

Buffalo Bills

After going unpicked in the 2016 NFL draft, Gronkowski was signed by Buffalo Bills. Further, he made the Bills' opening day roster. On 12th September 2016, he was released by the Bills.

New England Patriots

On 1st October 2016, Gronkowski signed to the Patriots' practice team. Later 11 days, he was released and resigned him to their practice squad on 17th October. Again on 7th November of the same year, he released from New England's practice squad, re-signing again on 16th November 2016.

Along with the Patriots, Gronkowski won Super Bowl LI on 5th February 2017, where his side defeated the Atlanta Falcons by a score of 34–28 in overtime to give Gronkowski his first Super Bowl championship.

On 2nd September 2017, Gronkowski was waived.
