Farid Diaz started his career as a member of the Bucaramanga U-19. He was later promoted to a senior team on January 1, 2003. Later, he left the club in 2006 after making 49 appearances.
On July 1, 2006, Diaz was transferred to Deportivo Rionegro where he played 27 games. In 2007, he was included in 3 games for Colombian professional football team, Atlético Junior.
On January 1, 2008, Diaz moved to Envigado with whom he won Categoría Primera B in 2007. For the team, he played 71 games before leaving the game. Diaz was loaned to Deportivo Pereira on Jan 1, 2010, where he made total 27 appearances.
