Elderson Uwa Echiejile or famously known as Elderson Echiejile is a professional football player who primarily plays as a left back for Nigerian national football team and Turkish football club, Sivasspor.
He has played for major European football clubs such as Stade Rennais FC, SC Barga and AS Monaco FC and also has represented Nigeria in U 20 team. He is a 2013 African Cup of Nations winner with the senior Nigerian football Team.

Elderson Echiejile, a Nigerian by birth was born to Nigerian parents on 20 January 1988 in Benin City, Nigeria.
He played at local youth ranks of Nigerian Academy like Pepsi Football Academy and joined the youth club of Wikki Tourists in 2001.

Echiejile began his senior career by joining the Benin based club, Bendel Insurance FC in 2004. He was later signed to French Ligue 1 club, Stade Rennais in 2007 and played his debut match against Toulouse FC on 23 December 2007.
After playing mostly for the reserve team of Rennais, he joined and signed a four-year contract with Portuguese club, SC Barga for a transfer fee of $ 3.08 million.
He played and scored his first goal against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League Qualifier.
His outstanding performances helped the Portuguese side to win Portuguese League Cup in 2012/13.
Echiejile then went back to France and signed a four and half year contract deal with AS Monaco FC on 17 January 2014 and scored his first goal against Stade de Reims on 31 October 2014. While with Monaco he was also transferred to European clubs, Standard Liege and Sporting Gijon as a loan for a season-long deal.

He along with star Nigerian player like Ahmed Musa, Victor Moses and Nosa Igiebor were some of the major stars that helped Nigeria to lift the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013.
The star Nigerian footballer is married to his wife, Vwemo Zerigbe whom he officially tied the knot on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 in France.
Later in December 2016, he married the love of his life in a traditional African wedding at Warri, Delta State.
Before his marriage, he was set to marry Annabel Akpala, a medical student and also a model by profession. She is also the youngest sister of Joseph Akpala, a former Nigerian striker. Echilejile proposed her with 3 stone diamond ring. However, they did not get married.
The reason for the split is unknown. The couple had been dating each other for some years and were engaged in 2015.
