Dyson Daniels was born on March 17, 2003, in Bendigo, Victoria. He is the son of Ricky Daniels and his wife, Brikitta Kool-Daniels. His father holds American nationality and came to Australia to play basketball after playing at NC State. His mum is Australian and has played volleyball and tennis in the past. Dyson has represented Australia in numerous divisions. He was part of the gold medal winning team at the 2018 FIBA Oceania Under-15 championship in Papua new Guinea. Daniels averaged 8.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. In early 2021, The player made his debut for the Australian senior national team at FIBA Asia Cup qualification with 23 points, six steals and four assists in an 81–52 win over New Zealand.
