Dusko Tosic was born to Milorad Tosic in a village near Zrenjanin, Serbia on January 19, 1985. He was a very poor family but had a keen interest in playing football since his early childhood days.
Interestingly his grandfather name is similar to his Serbian teammate Zoran Tosic. Tosic joined the youth rank of FK Proleter Zrenjanin in 1997 to begin his playing career.
He started his professional football career with a Serbian football club, OFX Beogard in 2002 and after impressive performances for the Serbian club, he was signed by French club, Sochaux in 2006.
The Serbian defender was a part of the team that went on to win Coupe de France in 2006/07. He was then transferred to German top Bundesliga club, Werder Bremen and signed a four contract with the team in 2007.
