In the 2019-20 season, Stramel competed for the Rosemount High School team and tallied 18 points in 23 games. He participated in a game for the Team MAP South Hockey in the UMHSEHL.

Additionally, he became the second-highest drafted player from the state, with Casey Mittelstadt being the only player selected earlier, going eighth overall to the Buffalo Sabres in 2017.

On July 1, 2023, he inked a three-year, entry-level deal with the Wild. Following the conclusion of his sophomore season with the Badgers, he is slated to participate in the Wild's training camp in September 2024, vying for a roster position with the team or potentially being assigned to their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild.
