Carlos Joel Salcedo Hernandez, a.k.a. Carlos Salcedo is a Mexican professional footballer who plays for German club Eintracht Frankfurt as a defender, wearing the shirt No. 13.
He made his football career debut with Real Salt Lake in 2013 and later two years switched to Guadalajara where he stayed till 2018. A Mexican international since 2015, Salcedo has represented his national side at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

He was raised alongside his siblings Paola Salcedo and Roberto Salcedo by their parents: mother, Maria Isabel Hernandez, and father, Carlos Salcedo, a former soccer player who played for Atlas before a knee injury ended his career. Also, his great-grandfather played football for Chivas Guadalajara and his dad’s uncle, Hugo Salcedo played for the U.S. at the 1972 Olympic Games.
Following his family steps, Salcedo started his youth career at C.D. Guadalajara in 2006 and moved to Tigres UANL and then Real Salt Lake.

Real Salt Lake
On 4th May 2013, Salcedo made his professional and first-team debut as a substitute against Vancouver Whitecaps in a 2–0 victory. He played overall 25 games with 1 goal for the club in a 2013-14 season.
On 6th January 2015, Salcedo peened a contract with Guadalajara. He made his Guadalajara debut in a 2–1 triumph at home against Pumas UNAM. His first goal for the club came on 1st March 2015, in a 3–0 win over Monterrey.
On 21st August 2016, Salcedo moved to Italian club Fiorentina on loan with an option to purchase the player at the end of the deal. On 15th September, he made his debut with Fiorentina in a goalless draw with PAOK in the Europa League. Later ten days, he made his Serie A debut against Milan in a 0–0 draw.
On 13th June 2017, Salcedo was again loaned out but this time to Eintracht Frankfurt with an option to buy. His debut for the club on 9 September against Borussia Mönchengladbach in a 1–0 triumph.
On 14th May 2018, Salcedo signed a four-year contract with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Carlos Salcedo was a part of Mexico U21, U22, and U23 national team. On 15th April 2015, he made his debut for Mexico senior international team in a friendly match against the United States. His competitive debut for his national side came on 15th June 2015, in a 3–3 draw against Chile.
In June 2018, Salcedo name was included in Mexico’s final 23-man squad for the World Cup along with his teammates Guillermo Ochoa, Hugo Ayala, and Hirving Lozano.
