Amir Abedzadeh is a professional Iranian football player who plays as a  goalkeeper for Iran national football team and Portuguese Primeira Liga club, CS Maritimo. He has represented Iran in their youth teams and made his senior international debut for  Iran in 2018.

Abedzadeh signed a three-year contract with the Iranian football club, Persepolis in the summer of 2012 and later on joined fellow Iranian club, Rah Ahan Yazdan SC with whom he signed the four-year contract at the beginning of July 2014.

After playing for Rah Ahan Yazdan, he briefly played for FC  Barreirense for 2016/17 season.

The Iranian goalkeeper is currently playing for Portuguese football club, CS Maritimo and become only second Iranian goalkeeper behind Alireza Haghighi and appeared in his first match in 2017.

He later went on to make his debut for Maritimo in the Taca de Portugal against Torcatense and kept a clean sheet. For his outstanding performance, he was named the Man of the Match.

Amir Abedzadeh’s  International Career

After playing for Iran at the AFC U22 Championship in 2014 in Oman, he was called to the senior Iranian national team in friendly matches against Panama and Venezuela.

He made his international debut against Uzbekistan in a friendly match on 19 May 2018 and was included in the initial squad for Iran at the 2018 FIFA World Cup at Russia. Some of the other players in the squad are Milad Mohammadi, Ashkan DejagahSaeid Ezatolahi etc.

Currently 25, the Iranian goalkeeper, Amir Abedzadeh stands at a height of 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs around 86 kg.
