Ahmed Fathi Abdelmonem Ahmed Ibrahim simply known as Ahmed Fathy is a professional football player who plays as a right back and occasionally as a defensive midfielder for Egyptian national team and the Egyptian professional football club, Al Ahly.
Apart from playing for several Egyptian football clubs, he has also played at English clubs such as Sheffield United and Hull City. He made his senior debut for Eygpt since 2002 and played at 2004 and 2017 African Cup of Nations, 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup as well as 2012 Summer Olympics.
Ahmed Fathy also part of the Egyptian team that went on to win 2006, 2008 and 2010 African Cup of Nations.
Ahmed Fathy was born to Egyptian parents on 10 November 1984 in Banha, Eygpt. He holds an Egyptian nationality.
He was interested in playing football since his early childhood days and joined the youth rank of Egyptian football club, Ismaily SC.

The Egyptian defender then moved to Qatar and joined Qatari club, Umm Salal in 2014. He is currently playing for Egyptian football club, AI Ahly with whom he signed in 2015. He was also included in the list of 25 best Arab players of 2017.
He created history when he became the youngest player to play for Eygpt at the age of 17 when he made his full senior international debut against South Africa in a friendly match.
Fathy also played at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in UAE in 2003 and is expected to play alongside fellow defender, Ahmed El Mohamady, midfielder, Ramadan Sobhi as well as the striker, Kouka at the FIFA World Cup at Russia.
Since making his debut in 2001, he has made 120 appearances and scored three goals for Eygpt.
Currently, 33, he stands at a height of 5 feet and 9 inches tall and weighs around 73 kg. It is reported that he is married and has two daughters.
