Originally, she was picked by the Seattle Storm with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft but was traded to Indiana in the exchange for Kennedy Burke. Aaliyah finished her collegiate career at Texas A&M, being named All-SEC Second Team selection and voted as an AP All American (HM).

A five-star recruit, her high school honors include 2015 and 2016 Gatorade Oklahoma Player of the Year, 2016 McDonald’s All-American.
