Younes Belhanda, the winner of 2012 Marc-Vivien Foe Award is a French-born Moroccan footballer, currently plays for Galatasaray. The attacking midfielder with jersey number 10, Belhanda is also the member of Morocco national football team.

Early Life and Early Career

Belhanda was born to his Moroccan parents on February 25, 1990, in Avignon, a commune in Southeastern France. He raised in nearby Aramon. 

Younes Belhanda commenced his football career with Racing Club Aramonais, his hometown club from 1997-1998. Then he joined MJC Avignon in 1998 and played till 2003, which was followed by joining Montpellier (2003-2009) at the age of 13 before making his senior club debut in 2009 with Montpellier.

Career Of Younes Belhanda

Younes Belhanda initially played as a defensive midfielder in Montpellier's youth team. And after 5-years in the academy, he was promoted to the reserve team in 2007-2008 season alongside the players like Benjamin Stambouli, Abdelhamid El Kaoutari, and Remy Cabella.

Montpellier (2009-2013)

On July 27, 2009, Younes Belhanda signed a 3-year contract with Montpellier for an undisclosed fee and made his debut against Paris Saint-Germain in the team's opening league match in the 2009–10 season.

Belhanda received his first red card following a second yellow card in a 4–0 loss away to Monaco on January 13, 2010. Without scoring in his first season, Belhanda made the first goal on October 16, the following season.

After he scored and assisted in a 3-1 win against Caen, Belhanda received UNFP Player of the Month Award for his incredible performance in November 2011-2012 season.

His contribution led the Montpellier HSC to win the  League 1 title in club's history on May 12, 2012. In his career with the club till 2013, Younes Belhanda made 127 appearances recording 26 goals.

Dynamo Kyiv (2013-2017)

Even though the rumors of Belhanda's move to Premier League side's Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa, flashed in media, the footballer penned a 5-year contract with Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv on July 1, 2013.

The transfer fee of Belhanda from Montpellier to Kyiv was estimated to be around $13.3 million. Belhanda made his debut with the team in a 1–1 draw against Volyn Lutsk as a substitute on the 65th minute. Then in a match against Shakhtar Donetsk on August 4, 2013, he scored his first goal for the team.

After scoring 8 goals in 56 appearances for Dynamo Kyiv, Younes Belhanda was transferred on a loan to German club FC Schalke 04 until the end of the season, on January 5, 2016.

Soon after his loan deal was over, Belhanda was again loaned out to French club OGC Nice on August 31, 2016, while his market value was recorded to be $8.775 million.

Galatasaray S.K (2017- Present) 

Younes Belhanda signed with Turkish club Galatasaray on June 28, 2017, and was assigned the jersey number 10 which was previously worn by former Galatasaray player Wesley Sneijder.

In the club, Belhanda has made 29 appearances so far while he has scored 3 goals for the team.

International Career

Younes Belhanda, initially played for his country of birth, France as he represented France's International game as a member of France U-20 and made 4 appearances without a score.

Younes Belhanda is named in Morocco’s 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia alongside Hakim Ziyech, Nabil Dirar, and Nordin Amrabat as per the announcement made in May 2018.

Younes Belhanda stands 5 ft 9 inches in height. The French-born footballer is low profiled regarding his relationship and personal issues. 

It seems he is focused on his career rather than indulging himself in love relationship and datings. Reportedly, Belhanda is unmarried till date. He hasn't spotted dating any lady who could be his possible girlfriend.
