As an intern, Carrasco began his football career by joining "Stade Everois" at age 5. He then played for the youth team of Diegem Sport from 2001-2005 and Genk for around five years.

Yannick moved to Monaco in 2012 and had his first professional game against Tours at the Stade Louis II on July 30, 2012. Later, he scored two winning goals over Auxerre.
