Trent Forrest is a rising American professional basketball player. He has been playing in the National Basketball Association for the Utah Jazz since 2020. Forrest currently plays as a Point Guard/Shooting Guard. Trent also plays for the Salt Lake City Stars.
Trent Forrest was born on Landon Trent Forrest on June 12, 1998, in Donath, Alabama. He is among the two children born to Barbara Lee and her husband, Lester Forrest. His mother works as a pastor of the All Things New Worship Center and Forrest played drums in the church and his father is the manager of Gilmore Park for Chipley's reaction department and built the youth basketball program in the town. Forrest graduated from Chipley High School and then enrolled at Florida State University. Trent stands six feet and four inches tall and weighs 95 kgs( 210 lb).
Trent started playing basketball from a very early age. He scored over 3000 points in his High School career and led Chipley to a state championship, scoring 26 points in the title game against Paxton High School. Trent turned down offers from numerous universities and accepted the offer of Florida State University. Trent averaged 4.9 points for the first year, 2.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
Coming into the sophomore year, Forrest averaged 7.9 points per game and third in rebounding with 4.9 per game, helping Florida State reach the Elite Eight. He finished the season as fifth on the team in terms of scoring. In the sophomore year, He had the cartilage torn completely off the bone in his big toe, yet played through pain and did not miss a single game. In the junior year, Forrest scored 20 points and had five rebounds in the Sweet 16 loss to Gonzaga , and was named to the West Regional All-Tournament Team and averaged 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
Forrest was selected to the Second Team All-ACC and the Defensive Team in his senior year. He averaged 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. Trent listed his name for the 2021 NBA draft. However, Trent was undrafted in the 2020 NBA draft and signed a two-way contract with Utah Jazz and Juwan Morgan.
