Sheymon da Silva Moraes was born on 11 October 1990 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was a practitioner of Muay Thai since a young age and at the start of his career started competing in Muay Thai competitions.
Sheymon Moraes began his career as a Muay Thai fighter competing in various Muay Thai tournaments and competition. He was able to find success in the scene but looking for more challenge decided to transfer over to mixed martial arts. His professional MMA debut was on March 17, 2012, against Richard Medeiros. He won the fight with a unanimous decision.
On September 8, 2012, Sheymon Moraes entered the Bitteti Bantamweight Grand Prix where he was originally scheduled to face Rodolfo Marque but ended up facing Pedro Arruda. Moraes defeated Arruda in the first round by TKO.

Moraes moved to face Pedro Nobre in the finals of the Grand Prix. The fight went to the second round where Moraes knocked out Nobre. With the win, Moraes became the new Bitteti Combat bantamweight titleholder.

Sheymon Moraes signed with World Series of Fighting (WSOF) and started competing in the promotion. During his stay at WSOF, Moraes had four fights and had a record of 3 wins and 1 loss.
On November 25, 2017, Sheymon Moraes made his debut at UFC. He faced Zabit Magomedsharipov in his debut match, which ended up in a loss for Moraes. He lost the fight via submission in round 3. His next fight at UFC was against Matt Sayles on August 4, 2018. Moraes' got his first UFC victory against Sayles with the unanimous decision.
