Samy Sayed Morsy popularly known as Sam Morsy is an English born Egyptian professional football player who plays as a midfielder for English professional football club, Wigan Athletic.

Moreover, he also played for English teams such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Port Vale, Chesterfield, and  Barnsley and made his debut for Eygpt in 2016.

Sam Morsy holds both British, as well as Egyptian nationality, as he was born to Egyptian parents in Wolverhampton, England. He also has three elder brothers. One of his brothers born three years earlier played for Wolves in his childhood.

He had a dream of becoming a footballer since his early childhood days and joined the youth ranks of English football clubs of Wolverhampton Wanderers and  Port Vale to pursue his dreams. He wanted to play for Wolves in his childhood.

After playing for the youth team of Port Vale, he joined the main team to start his senior career in 2009. He made his senior debut for Port Vale against Lincoln City FC on 23 February 2009 and made 71 appearances and scored 4 goals for the club, before leaving it in 2013.

Morsy then signed a two-year contract with the EFL League two club,  Chesterfield FC in July 2013

He was the prominent player for Chesterfield FC went on to win the Football League Two during 2013/14.

Sam Morsy signed a two and a half year contract with English Football League One club, Wigan Athletic FC on 28 January 2016and scored his first Wigan Athletic goal against Swindon Town on 25 March 2016.

While playing for Wigan Athletic, he was transferred to the second tier league club, Barnsley FC and joined on 31 August 2016 as a loan for the rest of  2016/17 season.

After his playing stint with Barnsley FC expired, he moved to Wigan Athletic and signed an added one year contract on 16 January 2018.

Despite born in England, he chose to represent Eygpt national team as his father is an Egyptian and made his international debut coming as a substitute Mostafa Fathi on 30 August 2016.
