Rodrigo Moreno Machado, well recognized as Rodrigo, is a Brazilian-born-Spanish professional footballer currently playing for Valencia CF as a winger or striker. He began his football career with Real Madrid, appearing only for its reserve teams. In 2010 he penned to Benfica with whom he won four titles, remarkably the domestic treble in the 2013–14 season.
He is eligible for both Brazil and Spain to represent internationally. But Rodrigo chose Spain and represented Spain at youth level, and was a Spain U-21 team member who won the European Championship. After playing some months with Madrid youth team, Rodrigo was promoted up to Madrid’s second reserve team in 2009. The same year, he made his way to Real Madrid B team where he played 2009-10 season, making 18 game appearances with five goals.
On 31st July 2010, Rodrigo arrived at Benfica, signing a five-year contract with Benfica for a reported transfer fee of €6 million.
Bolton Wanderers (loan)
The following month, he was loaned out to Premier League side, Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan deal.
