Stevenson enrolled at the Centennial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. During his junior season, he was the Las Vegas Sun High School Player of the Year in 2015. 

Initially, he attended  Cerritos College where he played two seasons for the college football team. Later, he was transferred to the  University of Oklahoma. In his debut season at Oklahoma, he played in the first 13 games of the season in 2019.

However, he was suspended for the 2019 Peach Bowl. He concluded the season with 515 yards on 64 carries with six touchdowns. 

Stevenson returned from the suspension six games into the 2020 season. After rushing for 186 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, he was named the MVP of the 2020 Cotton Bowl. 

In the 2021 NFL Draft, he was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round, 120th overall. On 19th May 2021, he signed his four-year rookie contract with New England.
