Paul Byron was born on April 27, 1989, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to parents whose names are not revealed yet. As per his nationality, he is Canadian and belongs to the white ethnic group. Further, his star sign is Taurus. He grew up along with his brother whose name is not available in the media.

A native of Ottawa, Byron played junior B hockey for the first time in 2005–06 with the Ottawa West Golden Knights. He moved to Major Junior with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Gatineau Olympiques the following season.

Paul Byron Professional Career

In the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, the Buffalo Sabres chose him with their sixth-round pick, 179th overall. On June 1, 2009, Byron signed a three-year contract with the Sabres just a few hours before Buffalo lost his rights. For the 2009–10 season, he was assigned to the top minor league affiliate of the Sabres, the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates. 

On June 25, 2011, a draft-day trade sent Byron to the Calgary Flames together with Chris Butler in exchange for Robyn Regehr, Aleš Kotalík and a draft pick.

Byron was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens from the Flames on October 6, 2015. Byron signed a four- year contract extension of $13.6 million on September 22, 2018, with the Canadiens lasting up to the season of 2022–23. 

On October 1, after Shea Weber was named the Canadiens' captain, Byron and Brendan Gallagher were named an alternate captain.
