Greg Gumbel is a Television Sportscaster from the United States of America. Well recognized for his various assignments for CBS Sports, his most outstanding service are the National Football League and NCAA basketball.
He is an older brother to the famous sportscaster Bryant Gumbel. He was born in 1946 and celebrated his birthday every year on the 3rd of May. He was born in the place New Orleans, Louisiana, US.
Gumbel attended De La Salle Institute. Before becoming a famous sports broadcaster, he received his Bachelor's degree in English from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. While studying there, he also excelled as a baseball player for his college team.

Gumbel turned professional after finishing his studies at the college. He begins his journalism career with an audition for sportscaster at WMAQ-TV, a Chicago TV station. He also served as the prime-time anchor for the 1994 Winter Olympics. In 1994, he went to work with NBC Sports; while working there, he bags good experiences hosting many programs. He returned to CBS as he hosts the network’s college basketball coverage.
