Syrian professional footballer Omar Maher Kharbin, best known as Omar Kharbin, currently plays for the Syrian national team as well as for Al-Hilal FC. He can play both as a second striker or a left winger. He started his professional career in 2009 with Al-Wahda and has played for several Syrian clubs.

Early Life and Career

Omar Kharbin was born on 15th of January 1994, in Damascus, Syria as Omar Maher Kharbin. He holds a Syrian nationality and is of white ethnicity. In childhood, Omar was much influenced towards football after he saw his older brother Mohamed playing it.

Further, Omar started off his footballing professionally with the Al-Wahda football club, based in Damascus.

Club Career

Al-Wahda

In 2009, Kharbin was promoted to the senior team of Al-Wahda, signing his first professional contract and remained with the team for 4 seasons until 2013.

Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (Loan)

In summer of 2013, he moved to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya on loan where he played till 2015. He scored 11 goals in 30 matches for the club.

Al-Mina’a (Loan)

On 6th August 2015, he signed a one season loan contract with Al Mina’a FC. For the club, he played in 10 leagues and scored 10 goals.

Al-Dhafra

In January 2016, he joined Al-Dhafra on a one-year loan along with an option to sign permanently. In his debut match, he scored the first goal for the club against Al Ain FC. From 2016-17, Kharbin played 26 leagues and scored 17 goals.

Al-Hilal

On 16th of January 2017, Kharbin went on six-month-long loan for a fee of $1.3 million to Al Hilal from Al Dharfa. On 28 January he made his club debut in a 1-0 victory in opposition to Al Ittifaq playing full 90 minutes. After 5 days, he scored the first goal and helped his native team from the defeat against the mid-table Al Qadisiya.

On 21st February he appeared 1st time in “AFC Championship League” in opposition to Iranian side Persepolis.

On 19th of June 2017, Kharbin permanently signed a four-year contract for 44 million Saudi riyals. Since his signing days, he played leagues and scored 2 goals for the club.

International Career

On 20th November 2012, Kharbin was included in the Syria National team. He made his international debut in a friendly match against Palestine national team and scored his first goal against Iraq on March 26, 2013.  So far, he has 36 caps and has scored 16 goals for the Syria national team.

Kharbin has not revealed much about his personal life. He even has not left any clue to guess. Till the date, he has not been spotted with any lady in the public, who could be his possible spouse or girlfriend. He is not a public guy as his official social media account is not available.
