Nick Bolton was born Nicholas Bolton on March 10, 2000, in Frisco, Texas. Bolton holds American nationality and is of African-American descent. Bolton stands six feet and weighs 105 kg (232 lb).
Nick started playing American football from a very early age. He was part of his High School American football team and had 111 tackles and one interception his junior season and 130 tackles and five interceptions as a senior. After graduating from High School, Numerous universities offered him athletic scholarships, and Nick chose to remain with the University of Missouri.
Bolton played in all 13 games recording 22 tackles and one sack in his freshman year. In the Sophomore year, Nick was a starter and was named first-team All-SEC after finishing with 103 tackles, two interceptions, and one sack. He was named into the first-team All-SEC team in 2019. The COVID pandemic lost most of the season, and he finished with 95 tackles and two sacks to close out his junior year.
In 2020, Nick was named a Butkus Award Finalist and was recognized as a second-team All-American by six different publications. He earned FWAA Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week after recording 11 tackles and 3 Points.
In early 2021, Nick listed his name for the 2021 NFL draft. Kansas City Chiefs drafted him in the draft as their second-round overall 58th pick.
