Naomichi Ueda started his career as a defender at the Ohzu High School in 2010 where he remained for three-years. Ueda was transferred to Kashima Antlers on 1st January 2013, and made his debut on 23rd March 2013, against F.C. Tokyo where they lost by 4-2. He has so far played 82 games netting 4 goals.

Ueda was loaned to J.League U-22 in 2014, where he played 4 games during his loan-season.

International Career

In 2011, Ueda made his international debut with the Japan U17 and included at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Following this, he scored a goal against Argentina as Japan went on to win the match by 3-1.

Ueda also played 9 matches for Japan U-23. He was the member of the U23 squad that won 2016 AFC U-23 Championship.
