Munir Mohamedi is a Moroccan professional footballer currently playing as a goalkeeper for Spanish club CD Numancia. Munir with the record of 28 caps also plays for the Morocco National Team in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in the captainship of Medhi Benatia.


Playing professionally since 2007, Munir made his International debut with Morocco in 2015 and also played in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Munir started his football career as a junior in the CG Goyu Ryu's youth system and graduated from the system being in the wishlist of regional league clubs, later being signed by AD Ceuta.

Munir Mohamedi Professional Career

Soon after his graduation, Munir Mohamedi was assigned in the reserve team of AD Ceuta and made his debut in 2008. After a season, Munir Mohamedi moved to another reserve team, UD Almeria B, a Tercera Division club on January 29, 2009.

Munir then joined UD Melilla in the summer of 2009, where he played as a backup to Pedro Dorronsoro during for first 2 seasons. While playing for Melilla from 2009 to 2014, Munir made the total of 74 appearances with the club.

On June 17, 2014, Munir signed with Segunda Division club CD Numancia on a 2-year contract on a free transfer. Munir made his debut with the club on September 11, 2014, where he saved 2 penalties during the shootout after playing 1–1 away draw against CD Leganes for the campaign's Copa del Rey.

And playing for the team till now, Munir has made 74 appearances.

Munir Mohamedi International Career

The Spanish born footballer Munir shifted his alliance to play for the Morocco National Team in 2014, followed by his call-up to the Morocco National Team to play friendly against Uruguay on March 9, 2015, which became his International career debut.

Also, Munir was named in the national squad to play in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on December 29, 2016, and played the tournament ahead of Yassine Bounou, eventually ruled out in the knock-out stage.

Named as the 23-man squad of Morocco National Team, Munir made his first World Cup appearance in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where they lost by 0-1 to Iran on June 15, 2018.
