on 11th September 2014, Betts was named the second base following to regular baseman Dustin Pedroia and Brock Holt.

Betts was named to the 2018 MLB All-Star Game as an American League starting outfielder. After 2018 MVP season, he earned his 3rd consecutive Gold Glove. Further, he was named the American League MVP, making him the only player in American League history to win the World Series.
