Tyler Beede is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MBL). He was drafted by the giants in the first round of the 2014 MBL draft. He made his MLB debut in 2018.

Tyler was born on May 23, 1993, in Auburn, MA. He was raised by Walter Beedle and Cheryl Rivers along with his older brother Kyle. Beede attended Lawrence Academy at Groton, Massachusetts.

Amateur career

 He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round with the 21st overall selection of the Major League Baseball draft. Although he didn’t sign and attended Vanderbilt University to play college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

In 2012 Tyler had a 1-5 win-loss record with a 4.52 earned run average and 68 strikeouts as a freshman. He was also named to the All-Southeastern Conference freshman.

Tyler began his sophomore season by winning his first 14 starts in 2013. He finished his season with a 2.32 era 103 strikeout. His performance earned him consideration for the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy.

Tyler got selected by the USA Baseball after that season to play for the United States collegiate national team during the summer. He helped the Vanderbilt win the College World Series with a 4.04 era and 116 strikeouts as a junior in 2014.

Professional career

Tyler made his professional debut with the Arizona Giants of the Rookie-level Arizona League in 2014. He gave up only three runs in 26/3 innings along with striking out 11.

 He then was promoted to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes of the Class A-Short season Northwest League. He finished the season with a 2.70  ERA in 20/3 innings.

In 2015, he started with San Jose Giants of the Class A-Advanced California League before being promoted to the Richmond Flying Squirrels of the Class AA Eastern League in June. He pitched to a 5-10 record and 3.97 ERA along with a 1.26 WHIP in 22 total games started between both teams.

The 2016 season Beede spent with the Richmond finishing with an 8-7 record and 2.81 ERA and 135 strikeouts.

He played for the Sacramento River Cats of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League in 2017. He made a 6-7 record with a 4.79 ERA in 19 games started. He was added to the Giants 40-men roster after the 2017 season.

On April 10, 2018, he was promoted to the major league by the Giants. He made his major league debut the same night at AT&T Park while playing against Arizona Diamondbacks. He started the game and pitched four innings.

As of now, he is playing along with some of the famous MLB players such as Buster Posey, Johnny Cueto, Jeff Samardzija, Brandon Crawford and many more.
