Then he had 5 amateur fight in which he recorded 4 wins and 1 loss against Marc Bockenheimer, Jens Back of, Naser Wahabi, David Adam, and Maurice Skrober respectively.
Further, he held GnP1.de “Young Fighter of the Year” for two consecutive years 2011 and 2012.
On 16th July 2011, he returned to compete professionally at OC 24 - 10th Anniversary Event against Marcel Jedidi. He won his second pro fight in the 1st round via rear-naked choke submission.
Martin marked his victory against Soufian Haj Haddou, Denny Peters, Film Macek, Matteus Lahadesmaki, David Baneschi, and Vugar Bakhshiev at OC 24, SFC 11, SFC 12, GMC 3, CWFC – Fight Night 8, Shooto – Switzerland and GMC 5 – German MMA Championship 5 respectively.
Before being signed to UFC, Buschkamp last competed against Rasul Khataev at Hit-FC – Hit Fighting Championship. He defeated Khataev in the first round through submission.
