He was picked 149th overall by Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL draft. He is also a two-time Stanley Cup winner with Blackhawks.
The Swedish professional Marcus Kruger was born on 27 May 1990 in Stockholm. His father's name is Peter Krüger, who himself was a fan of Swedish Elite League (SEL) as a result of which Marcus learned about the game since his early years.
Krüger started his early career with Stockholm based Djurgarndes IF of the SEL. He won a bronze medal at the junior and a silver medal in the senior level in international level representing Sweden. He later went on to join Chicago Blackhawks in 2010 where has been affiliated to date.
Marcus signed a $1.5 million deal with the Chicago Blackhawks for the 2015-16 season and was re-signed by the club on March 9, for a three year season for $9.25 million that runs till the 2018-19 season. His current salary is believed to be about $2 million.
After seven consecutive years with the Blackhawks, Krüger was rumored to be transferred to Vegas Golden Knights due to salary constraints but he remained at the Chicago through to the opening free agency.
Krüger's exact salary is still in the review and without any authentic source, there is no information about his net-worth or for that matter any of his financial transaction records.
But according to sources, Kruger paid $852,500 in October 2015 for the condo unit, which had been recently renovated.
Krüger represented Sweden at the junior level international play three times and helped his country by bringing home a bronze medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships.
At the senior level, Krüger played twice for his country, in 2011 where he won a silver medal and in 2012. he also represented Sweden at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
On June 2010, krüger signed a three-year-old contract with the Chicago Blackhawks but made his debut for the club only on 23 March 2011. During 2011-12 Blackhawks season Krüger played 71 games, scoring 9 goals and 17 assists.
Krüger scored his first career Stanley Cup playoff goal on 9 April 2013, which secured their victory against Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding. The season ended with the Blackhawks winning the 2013 Stanley Cup with Krüger netting 3 goals during their successful run alongside Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Artemi Panarin.
Following the successful season, Krüger signed a two-year extension deal with the Blackhawks on 12 July 2013. During this season, he scored 8 goals and provided 20 assists in 81 games for the club and also scored triple overtime away goal to tie the Western Conference finals 1-1 against the Anaheim Ducks. Krüger signed a one-year deal with the Blackhawks on September 11, 2015, for the 2015-16 season but unfortunately dislocated his wrist in a game. He was out of the bench for four months and had to switch his jersey number to 22 from 16 for his new teammate Winnipeg Jets and Andrew Ladd.
He was traded to Carolina Hurricanes during the 2018 NHL draft but was placed in the reserve after being injured. He was later sent to Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Jordan Martinook and a fourth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
Much is not known about Krüger as he likes staying out of media and tabloids but when it comes to his relationship with current girlfriend Malin Molander, who is a 23-year-old student at the Colombian College in Chicago, they are often talked about.
Back in 2015, Malin was a student at Colombia college majoring in marketing.
