In the beginning of his career, Lukasz Piszczek played as a forward for around seven years for the Academy of "LKS Goczalkowicw-Zdroj". He then joined the youth team of Gwarek Zabrze in 2001 and got name and fame after breaking many goalscoring records at the junior level. Piszczek was the member of the team that won the Polish youth Championship in 2003.
Piszczek later became the top scorer at the 2004 UEFA European Under-19 Championship along with Ali Ozturk. He left the club in 2004.
