Justin Ray Lawrence or famously known as Justin Lawrence is an American professional mixed martial arts fighter who is currently competing for American renowned MMA promotion, Bellator MMA in their featherweight division.

 

Among his accolades, he is a six-time International Kickboxing Federation winner and has compiled a record of 11 wins and 5  losses.

Justin Lawrence’s  Early Career

Justin Lawrence is of American nationality. He was born on May 15, 1990, and it was revealed that he has a stepfather, Benny Voyles who has been professional boxer and kickboxer.

Initially, he trained under his stepfather under his gym in Saint Louis, Missouri and was the two time St. Louis Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament Champion and Pan American Kickboxing Champion.

He did his schooling from Pacific High School and played football as well as wrestle in his high school days.

Justin Lawrence's Career

He made his amateur debut in 2007 and won his first ever match via submission hold. Lawrence made his professional MMA debut in Strikeforce on December 4, 2010, and won his debut match against Max Martyniouk in a unanimous decision victory.

Lawrence later joined Ultimate Cage Battles and went against MMA competitors such as Pete Martin as well as Jason Webb. He then joined The Ultimate Fighter: Live and went on to defeat James Krause to allowed to join the official cast member.

Lawrence later signed with UFC and won his debut fight against John Cofer via KO and later on joined with Resurrection Fighting Alliance.

He later signed with his current MMA promotion, Bellator MMA in 2015 and made his Bellator debut against Sean Wilson on June 19, 2015, and won the bout with a TKO in the first round.

Lawrence later went on to win against fighters such as Treston Thomison, Andrew Natividad etc and losing to Bellator competitors such as Emmanuel Sanchez, AJ Mckee.
