In the 2000’s ITV got a successful bid at the Premier League Highlights. This left BBC without a weekly match to cover. So, the champion moved onto ITV. In 2007 he was signed as a commentator for the FA League for SetantaSports UK, while his contract with ITV stayed intact.
Within a monthSetanta had lost their football rights and had closed out. Then quickly ESPN UK got a hold of Champion and he permanently moved to there.
