John Randall Hennigan is a professional wrestler, traceur, and actor, born on October 3, 1979. He lives in Los Angeles, California. He is better known by his ring name John Morrison and Johnny Nitro while working with WWE.
EARLY LIFE AND CAREER
Born in Los Angeles, he grew up and attended high school in Palos Verdes Peninsula. He then graduated from the University of California, Davis, majoring in film in 2002. He has a passion for parkour and presented it into his wrestling style.
Hennigan started his professional wrestling career training at Supreme Pro Wrestling School in Sacramento, California. He failed his first audition for Tough Enough 2; a competition where the winner will earn a WWF contract. He then made his second audition for Tough Enough 3 in 2002, where he became a co- winner with Matt Cappotelli. He was awarded a developmental contra and assigned to their developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling and continued his training.
Hennigan made his debut performance on the Raw brand under the ring name Johnny Blaze on March 1, 2004. He changed his name to Johnny Spade and three weeks later, it again changed to Johnny Nitro. He made his return to OVW where he performed as a rival to his former partner, Matt Cappotelli.
After some years, Melina appeared as a manager forming a group named MNM with Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury. They wrestled around a year, holding the Southern Tag Team Championship in OVW. He then moved to SmackDown after being called up in April 2005.
They won the WWE Tag Team Championship in their first match against Rey Mysterio and Eddie Gurrero. MNM held the titles for three months having successful defenses against various players of WWE.
He debuted on the Raw brand where he had his first match against John Cena for the WWE Championship but lost to that match. Immediately after that, he got a chance in WWE Intercontinental Championship Match against Shelton Benjamin and Carlito in a triple threat match at Vengeance. He got a grand victory in that match and held the title for about four months.
He then moved to ECW and made his debut on June 19, 2007, winning over Nunzio. He won the vacant ECW World Championship in a match against CM Punk, making it his first world championship in WWE. He has won WWE Intercontinental Championship for three times and World Tag Team Championship with The Miz, during his time in ECW. He has also won WWE Tag Team Championship for four times with Joey Mercury.
He then signed with the El Rey network's new television series, Lucha Underground as Johnny Mundo in September 2014. He won Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship for one time and Lucha Underground Championship for one time in Lucha Underground. He is also a winner of Lucha Underground Trios Championship with Jack Evans and PJ Black.
He joined Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion as Johnny Mundo on May 24, 2015. He had his debut at the Lucha Libre World Cup event representing Lucha Underground as a member of the team. The team consists of Johnny Mundo, Matt Hardy, and Mr. Anderson.
