On 8th December 2018, Ronson was scheduled to face Carlos Diego Ferreira at UFC 231, replacing an injured John Makdessi. Nevertheless, it was announced that Ronson was pulled out of the bout on 4th December 2018 due to being too heavy to safely make Lightweight and was released from UFC.
