Jamie Little started her professional journalism career as a sideline reporter with ABC Sports in 1996. She worked as a one-man band; camera, reporting, and broadcasting for two years before she was promoted to news anchor.

Later, she quit ABC Sports and started working for ESPN in 1998, as a sideline reporter. She almost featured all major sports tournaments including the Indy Racing LeagueSummer/Winter Extreme Sports events. Later, she went international to cover Canadian hockey and football leagues.
