Turner’s Career and Awards

Turner started playing baseball since his childhood. In 2008, he was traded along with utility player Ryan Freel and infielder Brandon Warning to the Baltimore Orioles. After that, he was invited to spring training as a non-roster invitee and assigned to Triple-A for 2009.

The Orioles purchased Turner’s contract on September 8, 2009. However, on May 21, 2010, Turner was designated for assignment by the Baltimore Orioles. After his release from the Mets, Turner signed a mirror league contract with the Dodgers on February 5, 2014, with an invitation to spring training.

In 2016, Turner played in a career-high in home runs (27) and RBI (90) while batting.275 and In 2017 he won the “final vote” contest for a spot in Major League Baseball All-star Game. Turner is one of the finalists for a National League Gold Glove Award at the position.
