Heather Cox, previously Heather Schoeny, is a well-known American sportscaster, born on June 3, 1970, in Jonesville, North Carolina, USA. She is a daughter of Alyson Schoeny (her mother). She has worked as a sideline reporter and sportscaster for various programs and events such as WNBA, NBA and other football and basketball games on the ESPN, ESPN2, ABC sports and NBC Olympics and later attended the University of the Pacific.
She attended the University of Pacific where she was a veteran volleyball player during her college days. She played for the Women's Volleyball team and led the team into the top five positions nationally. Her team reached to finals becoming the runner-up of the National Championship in 1990. She graduated with the degree of major in mass communication from the University of Pacific in 1992. She was also a member of the United States National Team for over 8 years.
In 2003, she served as a reporter for AVP pro beach volleyball coverage which was broadcasted on NBC sports channel. She worked for NBC Sports as her second assignment as a beach volleyball reporter and made her NBC debut reporting both the volleyball and beach volleyball competition, held at the 2004 Athens Games. She has also reported for ABC Sports and ESPN which includes the coverage of the NBA, college football, and NCAA basketball for both ESPN and ABC sports. She has also served as the analyst for the coverage of the men's and women's NCAA Volleyball Championships and NCAA Basketball for women in ESPN. She has also worked as a reporter and analyst for the 1998 and 2001 Goodwill Games for Turner Sports. She started her broadcasting career as a basketball analyst for Fox Sports Net in 1993 and also covered professional basketball, college football, and volleyball during her time in position at Fox Sports Net.
