Goalkeeper Loris Karius Speaks Up About Errors that Cost Liverpool Champions League Title Soccer

German goalkeeper Loris Karius has opened up about the errors he made during the Champions League final which cost Liverpool the title.

This is the first European title Liverpool would have otherwise won in the last 13 years as the last time they won a European title was in 2005.

 As Real Madrid won the title by 3-1, the goalkeeper was seen crying his eyes out and later, he even apologized to everyone at the club. There were mainly two mistakes that he made which led Real Madrid to a 3-1 win.

His first error was when he threw the ball straight to his opponent player Karim Benzema who scored the first goal into the empty net and gave Real a boost start.

Later on, a long-range strike by Gareth Bale slipped through his hands which lead the Spanish team by two goals.

After the heartbreaking loss, the goalkeeper was in tears and was being consoled by players from both the teams. Later on, he also shared that even though everyone tried to cheer him up, there was silence.

He was even spotted apologizing to the Liverpool fans who were hoping to see their team win traveling all the way to Kiev Olympic Stadium.

The 24-year-old said:

I don't feel anything right now. Today I lost my team the game, and I feel sorry for everyone - from the team, from the whole club - that the mistakes cost dearly. If I could go back in time, I would. I feel sorry for my team. I know I let them down today. These goals cost us the title basically. It's very hard right now, but that's the life of a goalkeeper. You have to get your head up again.
