Yorgos "George" Matthew Karlaftis is an American football player who plays for the Purdue Boilermakers. He plays as a defensive end for his college team Purdue; Karlaftis played school football at the West Lafayette High School. Karlaftis was named in the First-team All-Big Ten in 2021, two times Second-team All-Big Ten(2019,2020), and USA Today High School All-American in 2018.
Georgia Karlaftis was born on April 3, 2001, in Athens, Greece. He is among the two children born to Matthew Karlaftis and his wife, Amy Karlaftis. Karlaftis's father died due to a heart attack in 2014, and his mother moved to Indiana with them. Karlaftis spent his childhood with his brother Yanni playing in the backyard of his house.
