Jose Gimenez scored the first goal of the night for Uruguay in the 89th minute to lead the game by 1-0 against Egypt. Gimenez showed the way of the net to the ball with a beautiful header after a spectacular cross by Carlos Sanchez.
Uruguay got the freekick after Mohamed Abdel-Shafy fouled Gimenez in the 88th minute which was taken by Sanchez. Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenaawy got no chance to stop the ball.

There were no more goals from both sides. The match ended with 1-0 on Uruguayans' side. Suarez struggled with finishing on several occasions and missed three clear chances while Edinson Cavani attempted two beautiful shots- one was denied by the Egyptian goalie while the other hit the bar.
Uruguay will face Saudi Arabia in the next game while Egypt will take on the host Russia.
