Eden Hazard: Retires From International Football: Shortly After Exit From 2022 FIFA World Cup Soccer

The Belgium star Eden Hazard has announced his retirement from International Football. Shortly after, Belgium was knocked out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Group Stage matches. Eden took to his social media handle to announce the big news. 

"Thank you for your unparalleled support," he posted on Instagram. "Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008. I have decided to put an end to my international career. The succession is ready. I will miss you."

Hazard became a center of criticism before exiting from the World Cup, making a suspenseful statement about the national team's chance of winning the game.

Belgium-national started his career with  French club Lille and then moved to  Chelsea in 2012 and became one of the standout stars in the Premier League, winning the trophy twice. He sealed a big-money move to Real Madrid in 2019 worth more than $100 Million. However, His performance was hampered by injury, has struggled to repeat the form he showed in England.

Roberto Martinez was the first to announce his exit from the national team. 

Hazard has 126 international caps representing the Belgium national team and an impressive tally of 33 goals and 36 assists. He made his debut in 2008 and appeared in three World Cups and two European Championships.
