Douglas Jonathan Hamilton a.k.a. Dougie Hamilton is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who is signed to the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). In the 2011 NHL Draft, he was selected by the Boston Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL) in the first round, 9th overall. For the Bruins, he played three seasons and was traded to Calgary Flames (2015-18). Internationally, he participated in the 2012 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships held in Canada and won the bronze medal.
