Davinson Sánchez started his career as a member of the CD America U-19 and traveled four hours daily to and from training at his first club, America de Cali.
On July 1, 2013, Sanchez moved to Nacional U-19 and was promoted to the main squad during the 2013 season. He made his senior debut on 27 October of that year in a 0–1 away loss against Boyaca Chico.
On March 2, 2016, Sanchez scored his first goal for the club in a match against Sporting Cristal, Copa Libertadores.
