Brundage was good at wrestling in high school. He had a record of 56–3 as a senior and finished as the state-runner up. In total, he had 128 wins and 22 losses. The star also played football and swam. After high school, he kept wrestling at Newberry College where he had 96 wins and qualified for the NCAA two times. Brundage was also the team captain.

Brundage's curiosity in MMA began during his wrestling days, organizing fight clubs in the wrestling rooms. Following his college competitions and wrestling tenure with the Newberry College team, he transitioned to fighting and training, driven by his competitive spirit.

Early MMA Career

In 2017, Brundage entered the amateur circuit, achieving a 4-2 record before transitioning to professional status in 2019. His initial professional performances in the local Midwest circuit resulted in a flawless 5–0 record, culminating in his victories over Erick Lozano for both the Lights Out Championship Middleweight and Light Heavyweight titles at LOC 6 in December 2019, and at LOC 7 in February 2020.

Brundage had the opportunity to earn a UFC contract when he competed against William Knight at Dana White’s Contender Series 31. Unfortunately, he was defeated via TKO in the first round. Subsequently, at LFA 99 on February 12, 2021, Brundage emerged victorious with a third-round arm-triangle submission against Joseph Kropschot.

Cody Brundage is a professional fighter in the UFC middleweight division. He started fighting in the UFC in 2023 and has won 3 fights and lost 2. In his first UFC match, he beat Pat Healy by unanimous decision. He then lost to Edson Barboza by TKO in the third round. Brundage won his next fight against Jorge Masvidal at UFC on ESPN 52: Dariush vs. Tsarukyan with a first-round knockout (slam, punches).

However, he was disqualified in his following fight against Jacob Malkoun at UFC Fight Night 228: Fiziev vs. Gamrot because of illegal strikes. In his most recent fight against Zach Reese at UFC on ESPN 52: Dariush vs. Tsarukyan, he won with a first-round knockout (slam, punches).

Cody Brundage is married to former UFC fighter Amanda Brundage, who retired to pursue a nursing license. They met before they turned pro fighters. At that time, Amanda was a boxer and Cody had just moved to Michigan and started training at the same gym where Amanda trained and coached others.

They trained together for 6 months, got close, started dating, and then got married. They are one of the few couples to have both been in MMA and signed to the UFC.

Cody's Daughter’s Rare Condition

Cody Brundage has two daughters, Kingsley Brundage and Millie Brundage, with his wife Amanda Brundage. Kingsley has a gene mutation known as ALG13 or Congenital Disorder of Glycosylation, which leads to severe developmental delay and seizures, among other symptoms.

Cody has been outspoken about this condition, aiming to raise awareness and provide support to parents facing similar challenges.

Education & Qualification

Cody Brundage went to Chapin High School in Chapin, South Carolina, participating in wrestling, football, and swimming. He graduated from Chapin High School in 2012. Following that, he attended Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina from 2012 to 2017.

At Newberry College, he pursued a triple major in history, English, and secondary education and was also a member of the wrestling team.
