Football Journey

At the tender age of seven, Charles De Ketelaere joined Club Brugge in 2008, also working as a ball boy. Growing up, he also played tennis but ultimately chose football. 

Reportedly, he studied at university but quit following his football career took off. 

On 25th September 2019, De Katelaere made his senior team debut with Club Brugge, playing the entire match against Francs Borains in the 2019-20 Belgian Cup. 

On 22nd October 2019, he made played his career first  UEFA Champions League against the  Paris Saint-Germain. Though he began the match, he was substituted in the 57th minute with a score of 1–0 to PSG. The game ended with a 5-0 loss. 

His first goal for Club Brugge came on 5th February 2020 against  Zulte Waregem in a 2-1 victory which lead to the Belgian Cup Final. 

On 20th October 2020, De Ketelaere became the hero of the match with the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute against  Zenit St. Petersburg 2–1 in the group stage of the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League.

At the international level, De Ketelaere has played for Belgium U16, Belgium U17, Belgium U19, and Belgium U21. 

In November 2020, De Ketelaere received a call from the senior Belgium national team squad. He made his international debut as a substitute against Switzerland.

On 10th October 2021, he scored a goal for his national side in their 2–1 defeat against Italy in the Nations League third-place playoff match.
